A Roof Over Our Heads

This morning Nathan and I took our weekly drive by the new house.  We knew that this past week was going to include electrical and plumbing work, and Nate saw the other day that the roof had been put on as well. This coming week is the pre-drywall inspection and then our pre-drywall meeting with the builder. It was really cool to finally get to walk inside and envision how everything will look when it's finished. You can see the windows are in, as well.  Once the drywall phase of construction is complete, things are definitely going to start moving quickly. Here are some photo updates for everyone. Have a good week!:

Roof and windows installed!
Sliding doors to back patio, dining nook, and view into our future kitchen over what will soon be the bar counter top. Very open concept ;).
View from the back of the house (where the sliding doors are) looking towards the front door. On the right, you can see into what will eventually be our formal dining room. Stairs heading up to the second floor are also on your right...just not ready for us to climb up alone yet.

Inside of the garage, pre-drywall

Building Our Home - Post 1 of many

As you know, we're building a home in Cary, North Carolina.  We signed the papers in November, and construction really kicked into gear in early January.  Things are moving right along as we head towards our April closing date on 313 Riversville Court :).

This morning we drove by our home site before heading to the gym. Sundays are good days for us to check on the builder's progress because it's the one day of the week without construction. It's amazing seeing how quickly the other homes in our culdesac are coming together. I think most all of them at least have some siding up already, if not looking like they could be moved into any day now.  The folks next door to us just had their grass put in since last week when we went by and saw that the concrete had been poured for our house.

It's definitely starting to look like a real house now. Here are some photos thus far:

Here is our lovely street sign in Twin Lakes. We're following our parents' trend of living on streets with nature-y names-- Lakewater, Wooddale, and now Riversville.
Our lot, the week after we signed our papers and they put a "SOLD" sign up in the yard. We were the only spot left to buy before the culdesac was complete. Looking forward to moving in sans construction in April!
Framing stages! You can now see the 2-car garage, nice front porch with overhang, plenty of spots for windows, and where our front door will be.

Different view, focusing on the front porch

Backyard view. Note the "concrete slab" that will eventually house our outdoor table and chairs, and grill. Though it won't be fun to mow, no doubt this yard will see some good times in the years to come.

Our New Blog

As Nathan and I learn and grow as a couple, we realize more each day the importance of sharing and savoring big and little life moments with those we love most.  Though our generation is accustomed to posting every thought online for the whole world to see, we wanted to create a special place to discuss and preserve genuine feelings, important events, and precious memories with a select few people we know really care for us and consistently bring positivity into our lives.

We will use this blog as a home base for things we want to share with friends and family -- especially any pictures, fun updates, or random thoughts we know only those closest to us would truly appreciate.  We may not update every day or even every week, but we hope you enjoy the things we decide to post whenever we do post in the years to come. This will be a by-invitation-only blog, so if there is someone you think might want to see it, let us know and we can decide if it makes sense to invite them to view The Reynolds Report :).

Thanks for being in our lives. We love you. Happy reading!
